A high delegation from the International Islamic Relief Organization visited BCF


A high delegation from the international Islamic Relief Organization (IIRO) visited the BCF headquarter in Erbil aiming to increase the organizations’ involvement in humanitarian efforts in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.


The visit took place on 1st of August 2017 when a high delegation from the IIRO consisting of Sheikh Hassan bin Darwish Shhabr, the Secretary General of IIRO and Mr Abdulkarim al-Musa, the regional director of the organization were received by Mr Musa Ahmad, the BCF president. The two parties hold a meeting in which they both reiterated their commitment to continue humanitarian efforts to reach the affected population  in Iraq and the KRI among IDPs, refugees and the host community. While acknowledging BCF’s active role in the humanitarian field in Iraq, the visiting delegates expressed their intention to increase the IIRO’s involvement in humanitarian efforts in cooperation with the BCF. Mr Musa Ahmad welcomed the initiatives by the IIRO and both sides discussed ways to undertake collaborative work.


Accompanied by the BCF president and staff, the IIRO delegation visited a number of IDP camps near Mosul that managed by the BCF. The delegation visited Khazir, Hassan Sham and U2 camps to witness the humanitarian situation of Mosul IDPs who have been sheltered at the camos following the Mosul military operations that started since October 2016. Sheikh Shhabr and his accompanying delegation later discussed detailed plans to deliver rapid relief assistance and long term assistance to the affected populations in Iraq and the KRI.
