BCF-run greenhouses in Bahirka IDP camp open up livelihood opportunities

Barzani Charity Foundation (BCF) has built greenhouses in Bahirka camp, aiming at opening up livelihood opportunities for the internally displaced persons (IDPs) living in the camp.

 

The three-month greenhouse project is run by the BCF’s cultural and vocational centre of Mohammad Mahdi Jawahiri located in the camp. 27 workers, including 25 women and 2 men work in the project on a daily basis. 

 

The products of the greenhouses will be sold to the residents of the camp at very low prices and the financial gain of the project is used to cover the wages of the workers.
