On January 13, 2022, due to a rainstorm that caused a flood in several neighborhoods of Erbil, the emergency team of the BCF instantly took an initiative and started providing aid including hot meals to the vulnerable people of the Zeelan City, Pirash, Sebardan, Bakhtyari, Baharka, New Erbil, and Shawes Neighborhoods. The beneficiaries were including 1500 individuals. After the emergency aid, another stage of assistance took place by providing 100 liters of kerosene to the vulnerable families.
As part of this initiative, on January 17, 2022, the BCF in cooperation with the Erbil Joint Crisis Coordination Center (EJCC) and the Galiawa Company distributed kerosene heater, blanket, mattress, food, stove, and carpet among 281 households affected by the flood.
