On Thursday, July 28, in a press conference, attended by the director of Kirkuk Kurdish education system, head of the Kurdish education supervising department, and head of the BCF’s Kirkuk office, announced the project of renovating 20 schools in the province which is part of the project announced earlier by the foundation to renovate 200 schools in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.
The head of BCF’s Kirkuk office stated that we have selected those 20 schools in coordination with Kirkuk Kurdish education directorate and the Kurdish education supervising department, noting that the renovation will be done in four areas: electricity, drainage system, welding work, and painting.
The renovation process is expected to be completed before the start date of the school new year.
The director Kirkuk Kurdish education said “Our directorate has no funds to renovate our schools,” thanking the BCF for including their schools in the project of renovating 200 schools.
At the end of the conference, head of the Kurdish education supervising department said all the other previous contractors left the project unfinished and now “we are happy that BCF is helping us during such a time” and that they finish the project in a timely manner, extending her gratitude to the BCF for its assistance.
On July 24, BCF announced in a press conference, attended by the KRI education minister, Erbil governor and the BCF president, the project of renovating 200 schools in Kurdistan Region.
