Barzani Charity Foundation (BCF) has allocated an amount of $500,000 for the project of renovating 50 schools in the Duhok Province.
On Monday, August 1, the BCF announced in a press conference, attended by the Director of Duhok Education, and head of the BCF’s Duhok office, the project of renovating 50 schools in the province which is part of the project announced earlier by the foundation to renovate 200 schools in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.
The head of BCF’s Duhok office, Abdul Wahid Ameen, stated that they have selected those 50 schools in coordination with the Ministry of Education and Duhok Education Directorate, noting that the schools are located in Akre, Zakho and Amedi districts. The renovation will be done in four areas: electricity, drainage system, doors and windows, and painting, he added.
The renovation process is expected to be completed before the start date of the school new year.
At the end of the conference, the Director of Duhok Education said the renovation at this particular moment is of great importance and is highly appreciated, stressing that this project will create a better learning environment for students, extending his utmost gratitude to the BCF for its continued support to education process and helping local and IDP students.
On July 24, the BCF announced in a press conference, attended by the KRI Education Minister, Erbil Governor and the BCF President, the project of renovating 200 schools in Kurdistan Region.
