BCF to Renovate 50 Schools in Erbil

On August 7, 2022, Barzani Charity Foundation (BCF) announced the project of renovating 50 schools in Erbil.

In a press conference, attended by the Head of General Directorate of Erbil Education, Bashdar Abdul-Khaliq Khoshnaw, the Head of the BCF’s Erbil Office, Stav Aso, announced the renovation project of 50 schools in Erbil, stating that they have included all the the districts and areas in the province.

She noted that the renovation project of the 50 schools will not only benefit students and educators, but also create job opportunities for a large number of people in the construction industry, adding that a budget of USD 0.5 million  has been allocated for the project with some additional fund for labour and administration.

The education sector has always been of central importance to the BCF, she said, noting that the foundation has conducted 69 projects since the beginning of 2022 in the education sector in Erbil alone.

The director of Erbil Education extended his gratitude to the BCF for such a needed project, saying that they have not been able to make proper renovations of the schools during the last few years due to financial issues facing the Kurdistan Region.
