Arshak Manoukian, Consul General of Armenia in Erbil, visited Sheikhan camp in Duhok province on Thursday, December 1, 2022. The purpose of the visit was to further coordinate joint work with the Barzani Charity Foundation (BCF).
The visit came after the Consulate General of the Republic of Armenia provided the funding of the replacement of the tents of IDPs in Sheikhan camp.
During his visit, the consul general distributed gifts to the children of the camp.
Earlier on October 10, 2022, the BCF President Musa Ahmed and the Armenian Consul General signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) according to which the Consulate General of the Republic of Armenia in Erbil allocates $24,070 to cover the cost of replacing 870 tents for IDPs in Shekhan camp in Duhok Province.
The BCF president noted that the fund provided by the BCF for the purchase of the tents is $217,500, bringing the total fund for the project to $241,570.
The population of Sheikhan camp is 644 families (3,190 individuals) who have benefited from the project.
