BCF Relief and Rescue Teams Arrive in Turkey

As instructed by Masrour Barzani, Head of the Founding Board of the Barzani Charity Foundation, the foundation’s rescue teams and relief convoys left for Turkey on Monday, February 6, 2023, to help the earthquake victims in the country.

After the earthquake in Turkey and Syria, a BCF trained team in the field of emergency response equipped with all medical supplies arrived in Turkey to help the victims of the disaster. The first convoy consisted of 15 vehicles and 50 rescue personnel.

The BCF launched the jointed efforts in coordination with the Ministry of Health, the Joint Crisis Coordination Center (JCC) of KRG Ministry of Interior  and other relevant parties.

The BCF teams are also ready to be dispatched to Syria to help the victims of the quake, and are now completing the administrative procedures to cross the border points between the Kurdistan Region and Rojava (Northern Syria).

The death toll from Turkey’s earthquakes has risen to more than 1,500 and 2,800 buildings and houses have collapsed.
