Barzani Charity Foundation (BCF) announced its annual project to provide fresh Qurbani meat to refugees, IDPs and local communities in need. The project will be carried out with the support of UAE Red Crescent Society and other country’s charities.
The BCF President Musa Ahmed, announced the project on June 20 in a press conference attended by Ahmed Al Zahri, Consul General of the UAE in Erbil.
The BCF president expressed utmost gratitude for the partnership and support of the UAE to humanitarian projects of the Barzani Charity Foundation, especially it support to refugees and orphans. He stated that low-income people, refugees and IDPs are looking to the Barzani Charity Foundation for some support in Eid al-Adha.
He noted that the joint project of the UAE and BCF is expected to benefit more than 10,000 families for this holiday. He said $104,000 has been allocated for the qurbani meat, of which $69,000 was provided by the UAE government and its organizations.
The UAE Consul General stated that the Red Crescent Society of the United Arab Emirates and all charities in the UAE such as the Khalifa Foundation and others are involved in providing assistance to the refugees and displaced persons hosted by the Kurdistan Region.
The UAE Consul General in Erbil thanked Prime Minister Masrour Barzani for his support to this project. He also thanked the employees of the Barzani Charity Foundation, who have an important role in providing assistance to the refugees.
