Barzani Charity Foundation teams go to the aid of flood victims in Duhok

Natural disasters and floods in several neighborhoods of Duhok city caused heavy damage to the residents of the city and Barzani Charity Foundation (BCF) teams rushed to the scene to help the victims of floods.
In the last days of the Kurdish New Year and on March 19, 2024, along with the floods in several neighborhoods of Duhok, on the recommendation of Mr. Musa Ahmad, President of Barzani Charity Foundation, emergency teams quickly arrived at the scene despite of helping and rescuing the elderly and children they also carried out various activities, which were as follows:
On March 20, 2024, Barzani Charity Foundation (BCF) relief teams delivered food and non-food aid to 100 families in Duhok city center and each family was provided with (4 blankets, 4 mattresses and one carton of food parcels), as long as the disaster occurred during the holy month of Ramadan, the families affected by the floods and they were obliged to stay in hotels, hot meals and dinner were prepared for them.
With the help from Holland Bazaar and Namliya Restaurant in Duhok dinner was provided for two days to 230 people who were obliged to stay in hotels due to floods and damage to their homes. Furthermore, in coordination with the Duhok Health Directorate and (Sipan House), on March 23, 2024, distributed sweets and gifts to 120 children in 11 hotels in Duhok, who stay with their families in hotels.
Cleaning the houses of citizens and neighborhoods of the city and delivering water tankers to citizens were another part of the intensive campaign of the emergency teams of the Barzani Charity Foundation, which lasted several days.
In the continuation of these activities on 21/3/2024, Mr. Ali Tatar, Governor of Duhok visited the teams of Barzani Charity Foundation, while working in the flood scene in the neighborhoods of Duhok, on behalf of himself and Duhok province he thanked the Barzani Charity Foundation and its emergency teams and appreciated the efforts of the teams, that worked tirelessly during the floods and came to the aid of the victims.
According to the Civil Defense Directorate in Duhok province, although 120 people were rescued, but unfortunately three citizens were died and 11 others were injured. 150 houses and 50 vehicles were severely damaged.
