Barzani Charity Foundation (BCF) in collaboration with Lalsh Cultural and Social Center, opened a human development camping for Yazidi youths and the manager of the camping gives more detail.
Barzani Charity Foundation (BCF) in collaboration with Lalsh Cultural and Social Center, opened a human development camping for 100 young Yazidi boys and girls on April 3, 2024. And On April 7, 2024, the activities ended and the participants got certificates of participation in the camping.
Mr. Rawaj Haji, a member of the Executive Board of Barzani Charity Foundation and the manager of the sixth human development camping, said: “This camping was opened in the village of Avda in Barzan region. Special places for women and men and all their needs were provided. This is the sixth round of the human development camping that started since 2018.
These campings are opened annually to develop and prepare the youths in the humanitarian field and civil society. We have tried to seriously develop and promote their skills. In these campings, participants will be trained on civil society, sports and health, environmental protection and coexistence, ethnic issues, human rights in general and women and children in particular in addition to eight theoretical and practical courses taught by university professors and experts, adding to all those above they also got trainings on first aid treatments.
This year, three special trips were conducted, to Shanidar Cave, Bedial village, which is inhabited by Christians and Assyrians, which is a symbol of religious coexistence in Barzan, and they also visited shrine of the undead and Barzan Memorial. Furthermore, they visited the Barzani Genocide Monument and were given necessary information.”
In 2018, a human development camping was opened for the foundation staff and individuals working in humanitarian fields. This year, the sixth camping was opened and several lessons on time management, successful personality etiquette, and sports trainings were offered to the participants. And they also have been given special trainings on camp management, assistance to refugees and displaced persons, they have been taught about welcoming them and managing their work.
