On December 19, 2018, Heiko Maas, the German Minister for Foreign Affairs visited Hasansham camps, managed by Barzani Charity Foundation (BCF), EJCC and UNHCR, aiming at inspecting the situation of the displaced people living the camps.
The German minister was received by the BCF management staff in the camp and during a meeting, the situation of the IDPs was discussed. The issue of re-displacement of the people who return to their areas was also highlighted. Due to lack of livelihood opportunities and proper shelter in their areas, the IDPs once again return to the camps.
The German official met the inhabitants of the camp and closely paid attention to their situation.
