Musa Ahmad, President of Barzani Charity Foundation and his accompanying delegation visited Soran University on Thursday 10\7\2025, and Dr. Sherwan Sharif Qurtas, the dean of Soran University warmly welcomed them.
The purpose of the visit was to identify a way to work together in the field of environment and climate change, which has now become a comprehensive issue and countries around the world are working seriously on it.
In the meeting, the President of Barzani Charity Foundation highlighted the scientific position and achievements of Soran University and congratulated them and wished them further success. He stressed that the doors of Barzani Charity Foundation will always be open for anyone from Soran University, for students that research in master’s and doctoral theses and support the work of the research group of the university.The President of Barzani Charity Foundation, the dean of Soran University and the participants discussed the situation of climate change in detail and discussed the possibility that due to the climate change, a wave of refugees and displaced persons may head to the Kurdistan Region.
The President of the Barzani Charity Foundation, in his speech, referred to the laying of the foundation stone of the first building of the rehabilitation center for drug addicts in Erbil by His Excellency Prime Minister Masrour Barzani. He added that under his supervision, the Barzani Charity Foundation has launched a national campaign to combat drugs. He also wanted to have more and continuous coordination with Soran University in this field.
At the end of the meeting, two important agreements on environment, climate change and fighting drugs were signed between Barzani Charity Foundation and Soran University.
