Barzani Charity Foundation awarded 19 children who graduated from the fifth round of the UAE Center for Autism in Erbil. At the graduation ceremony, the children who graduated from the fifth round performed several artistic activities (dance, anthem, song). At the end of the ceremony, they were presented with certificates by the President of Barzani Charity Foundation and the Consulate General of the UAE in Erbil.
In the presence of Musa Ahmad, President of Barzani Charity Foundation, Sheikha Bashir Farhan, Acting Director of the UAE Consulate General in Erbil, Omid Khoshnaw, Governor of Erbil, Dr. Dlovan Mohammed, Director General of Erbil Health Directorate, directors, teachers and trainers of the UAE Center for Autism, children and their families, a number of government officials, civil society activists and donors, on 14\9\2025 in a ceremony held at the UAE Center for Autism in Erbil, the graduation ceremony took place. Mr. Musa Ahmad, President of Barzani Charity Foundation, welcomed the participants and congratulated the graduates, their families, teachers and trainers of the children, said that as Barzani Charity Foundation, they have seen many tragedies and unpleasant events. But they also had the “luck” to celebrate the success of children and students. He stressed that President Massoud Barzani saw the project to serve children with autism and was pleased with it and instructed them to do serious work for these beautiful children. He said that the UAE government has covered the cost of the building of the UAE Center for Autism in Erbil and while expressing gratitude for their sacred work, he said that His Excellency Mr. Masrour Barzani, Chairman of the Founding Board of Barzani Charity Foundation had specific recommendations regarding the project to serve children with autism and constantly implemented the project. He also highly appreciated the role of donors and sponsors and thanked them.
The president of the Barzani Charity Foundation said that a center for autistic children has been opened in Soran in Daik Care Complex, then he announced that a similar center has been opened in Zakho and hoped that similar work will be done in all Kurdistan cities and towns.
Dr. Rawsht Rashid, Advisor to the President of Barzani Charity Foundation in the Health Sector, congratulated the teachers and trainers of the UAE Center for Autism and said that more than 110 trainers have been trained by international trainers and specialists. He added that 19 children who graduated from the fifth round of the UAE Center in Erbil will be mixed with ordinary students and can continue their education in schools. However, a number of fifth grade graduates and their families did not attend the ceremony for special reasons.
He said that 82 of the 300 children at the UAE Center for Autism in Erbil have been enrolled in schools, which means that more than 30 percent of the children at the UAE Center for Autism in Erbil have been enrolled in schools. As he mentioned this number as an extraordinary number.
The advisor to the president of the Barzani Charity Foundation in the health sector, said that a family living in Germany, brought their child to the UAE Center for Autism in Erbil and returned after rehabilitation of their child.
Dr. Dlovan Mohammed, Director General of Erbil Health Directorate, congratulated the graduates and their families and trainers, pointing out that Barzani Charity Foundation has had significant cooperation with Erbil Health Directorate in the past, in providing medicines and medical supplies. They were even “great supporters” of the health sector in trainings.
The Director General of the Erbil Health Directorate stressed that the efforts of the staff of the center and the trainers of children with autism, have been able to produce individual investors and children with autism can go to normal education and called this a great and sacred work. He hoped that more treated children would be integrated into the regular education process in the future.
The ceremony began with the screening of a video about how to train the children and the final part of the ceremony was a beautiful girl’s ballet dance, singing and drumming of three beautiful children. In the last part, the President of Barzani Charity Foundation and the Director of the UAE Consulate General in Erbil awarded the graduates and presented them with certificates.
