Part of the Projects and Work of the Barzani Charity Foundation in March 2026 Inside and Outside the Kurdistan Region

The Barzani Charity Foundation, during March 2026, both inside and outside the Kurdistan Region, carried out a number of projects, relief efforts, services, and humanitarian assistance. Here, we present a summary of those activities.
On the first day of the month:
The Kirkuk office of the Barzani Charity Foundation, as an annual tradition and in loyalty to the path of the immortal Mala Mustafa Barzani, coinciding with the 47th anniversary of his passing and during the holy month of Ramadan, announced the project “The immortal Barzani, Symbol of Coexistence.” As the beginning of the project, food and non-food assistance was distributed to 30 poor and low-income families in the city of Kirkuk.
The Afrin office of the Barzani Charity Foundation organized a football tournament for the youth of Afrin and Ashrafiyah. Eight teams and 120 players participated in the tournament.
The Duhok office of the Barzani Charity Foundation organized a special and joyful activity for 100 orphaned children.
On the same day, orphaned children in Kalar were made happy, and clothing and shoes were provided to 47 orphaned children.
On the second day of March:
The teams of the Barzani Charity Foundation in Qamishlo conducted house-to-house visits in one neighborhood and provided various kinds of assistance to 600 local families.
The Garmian office of the Barzani Charity Foundation distributed food baskets to 130 poor and low-income families in Kifri district.
In cooperation with Shelter Now, in Shariya Camp within Duhok Governorate, food and non-food assistance was distributed to 163 widowed women.
On 3/3/2026, in the Himo neighborhood of Qamishlo, various assistance was provided to 700 local families.
On the same day, food baskets were distributed to 150 poor and low-income families in Khanaqin.
In Kirkuk, with the support of a donor, financial assistance was distributed to 300 poor and low-income families. Each family received $100, and the total amount distributed was $30,000.
The Barzani Charity Foundation annually implements a financial assistance distribution project (Zakat funds), in which wealthy individuals and donors entrust their funds to the Foundation, considering it a trustworthy and reliable bridge with a strong record in humanitarian work.
Under the slogan “Cooperation and Brotherhood,” the Barzani Charity Foundation, within the framework of its Ramadan projects, launched a project to provide free bread to low-income families in Duhok Governorate.
On 4/3/2026, in coordination with the Martyrs and Anfal Directorate in Erbil, food baskets and cartons of products (from ZOM Company) were distributed to the families of martyrs.
On 5/3/2026, the Barzani Charity Foundation, with the support and cooperation of the people of the Kurdistan Region, distributed more than 500 food cartons and 12.5 tons of flour to local families in Warit village in the Derik area of Rojava Kurdistan.
On 7/3/2026, within the framework of the Foundation’s assistance in Rojava Kurdistan, food and non-food aid was distributed to 470 families in villages around Qamishlo.
On the same day, in Shiladze and the Siriye community within Duhok Governorate, food assistance was distributed to 200 low-income families.

On 8/3/2026, in the villages around Qamishlo, another 375 families in that area benefited from the assistance.
The Barzani Charity Foundation, in Rojava Kurdistan, during a ceremony on the occasion of International Women’s Day (March 8) in Qamishlo, extended congratulations to the girls and women volunteers of the Foundation and the staff of the Kurdish Red Crescent.
Also on 8/3/2026, the Kirkuk office of the Barzani Charity Foundation, in Shorash subdistrict affiliated with Chamchamal, distributed financial assistance to 136 families affected by floods, with each family receiving 400,000 dinars.
On the same day, the Foundation’s field teams distributed hot meals to 700 people in Qamishlo.
On 9/3/2026, the Halabja office of the Barzani Charity Foundation distributed 1,000 food baskets to poor and low-income people in Halabja.
The Afrin office of the Barzani Charity Foundation distributed financial assistance to 30 families residing in Kefrum Camp.
On the same day, a team from the Barzani Charity Foundation participated in the anniversary ceremony of the passing of the artist Mohammed Sheikho.
At the same time, food and non-food assistance was distributed to 450 families in villages around Qamishlo.
In the city of Zakho, food baskets and bread were provided to 400 poor and low-income families.
In Kalar, food baskets were provided to people with special needs, benefiting 114 families.
Also on that day, the Afrin office of the Barzani Charity Foundation distributed financial assistance to poor and low-income families in Kefrum Camp.
In Halabja, financial assistance was also distributed to 50 poor and low-income families.
In the Turaq neighborhood in Erbil, 500 food baskets were distributed to poor and low-income people.
The Barzani Charity Foundation, in cooperation with the Galiawa Company Group, in addition to food baskets, annually during the month of Ramadan prepares daily iftar meals for 1,000 people in Erbil Park.
On 10/3/2026, the Barzani Charity Foundation distributed food baskets to 400 families of martyrs. At the same time, with the support of a donor, financial assistance was provided (100,000 dinars for each family).
Also, within the framework of the project for the care of people with special needs, 10 wheelchairs were provided to individuals with special needs in Erbil.
On 11/3/2026, the Afrin office of the Barzani Charity Foundation, in Kefrum Camp in Afrin, distributed food baskets, canned milk, and cleaning supply cartons to 47 families residing in the camp.
In Akre, 300 food baskets, and in Bardarash, 200 food baskets were distributed to poor and low-income families in those areas.
On 12/3/2026, the Barzani Charity Foundation in the Sulaymaniyah area distributed financial assistance to 100 low-income families, with each family receiving 200,000 dinars. At the same time, financial assistance was distributed to another 100 families in the same area, funded by Khalid Khoshnaw, with each family receiving $200.
On 14/3/2026, on the occasion of the 123rd anniversary of the birth of the immortal Mala Mustafa Barzani, the Barzani Charity Foundation distributed clothing to 2,000 children in Qamishlo.
At the same time, at the Barzani Center for Culture and Development in Afrin, a literary and artistic event was organized. A number of artists, poets, public figures, and civil activists participated in the event and, through their works, highlighted the greatness of the immortal Barzani in the fields of humanitarian work, coexistence, and peace, as a beloved figure who dedicated all stages of his life to serving his people and nation.
Also on 14/3/2026, in Halabja, financial assistance was distributed to 40 low-income families, with each family receiving $200. The total amount distributed was $8,000.

On 15/3/2026, on the occasion of welcoming the holy month of Ramadan, the Barzani Charity Foundation provided new clothing to 4,050 children in Rojava Kurdistan. Children from Qamishlo, Derik, Amuda, and Sere Kaniye benefited from this assistance.
On the same day, the Zakho office of the Barzani Charity Foundation, in cooperation with Azar Foundation, provided new clothing to children at the autism center in Zakho.
The Kirkuk office of the Barzani Charity Foundation distributed various forms of assistance to 40 poor and low-income families. The assistance included two food baskets, a cleaning package, chicken, red meat, and holiday necessities, and each family also received 250,000 dinars.
The teams of the Barzani Charity Foundation – Amedi representative office, on 15/3/2026, reached the subdistricts of Shiladze and Deraluk, the communities of Siriye and Qadash, and the villages surrounding Amedi, with the aim of delivering humanitarian aid to families with limited income. This assistance covered 30 families and included food baskets, clothing, blankets, cleaning materials, and household items (stoves, dishes, and utensils).
On 16/3/2026, under the supervision of the Barzani Charity Foundation, the “Orphans’ Smiles” project was concluded, and healthcare services were provided to 60 children.
Within the framework of this project, in coordination with Bayt Center, full dental treatment was provided for all the children. Additionally, food baskets were provided to their families by the Barzani Charity Foundation.
On the other hand, the ZOM Dairy Company contributed to bringing joy to the children by providing packages of dairy products.
On the same day, the process of distributing essential supplies was carried out in Hasakah Governorate. In this activity, 500 food baskets were distributed to residents of Sere Kani Camp in Hasakah, families who had been affected by floods and were in urgent need of assistance.
Also, the Duhok office of the Barzani Charity Foundation distributed financial assistance to 41 low-income families, with each family receiving $200. The total amount distributed was $8,200.

The Nineveh office of the Barzani Charity Foundation distributed financial assistance to low-income families within Nineveh Governorate.
In this assistance, the Barzani Charity Foundation distributed 10,000,000 Iraqi dinars among 50 families. Each family received 200,000 dinars.
At the same time, 30 families benefited from financial assistance provided by the well-known donor Khalid Khoshnaw, with each family receiving 200 USD.
The Sinjar office of the Barzani Charity Foundation distributed 750 food baskets to poor and low-income families in the Zummar sub-district.
The Erbil office of the Foundation also distributed financial assistance to 300 low-income families, with each family receiving 300 USD.
On 17/3/2026, the Garmian office of the Barzani Charity Foundation, with the support of a donor, distributed financial assistance to 15 low-income families. Each family received 100,000 dinars.
The Kirkuk office of the Barzani Charity Foundation distributed financial assistance to 50 low-income families, with each family receiving 200 USD.
The Akre representative of the Barzani Charity Foundation distributed financial assistance to low-income families and patients.
The assistance was distributed as follows:
24 families – each family received 200 USD.
18 families – each family received 200,000 dinars.
40 families – each family received 100,000 dinars.
A total of 82 families benefited from this assistance.
On the same day, in the presence of Sroa Salih, Director of the Sulaymaniyah office of the Barzani Charity Foundation, and Saman Hussein, Director of the Kurdistan Disabled Union Organization, food assistance was distributed to 250 people with special needs in Sulaymaniyah.
The Sinjar office of the Barzani Charity Foundation distributed financial assistance to low-income families within the Sinjar district.
In this assistance, the Foundation distributed 5,000,000 dinars among 50 families. Each family received 100,000 dinars. At the same time, 20 families benefited from financial support provided by the well-known donor Khalid Khoshnaw, with each family receiving 200 USD.
At the same time, the Amedi representative of the Barzani Charity Foundation distributed financial assistance to 43 low-income families and patients.
The assistance was distributed as follows:
13 patients – each received 200 USD.
30 tenant families – each family received 100,000 dinars.
On 17/3/2026 in Sulaymaniyah, 400 food baskets were distributed to poor and low-income people.
On 18/3/2026, the President of the Barzani Charity Foundation, in a media conference, presented data and information about the Foundation’s activities during the holy month of Ramadan of the year, and also pointed out that they worked in seven different sectors, and the total cost of the assistance during this month amounted to 4,577,635,000 Iraqi dinars.
On the same day, the Duhok office of the Barzani Charity Foundation distributed financial assistance to 100 low-income and orphaned families. Each family received 100,000 dinars, and the total distributed amount was 10 million dinars.
At the same time, the orphans’ and widows’ unit of the Erbil office of the Barzani Charity Foundation, which belongs to the Orphan House, in cooperation with a donor, provided food and non-food assistance to 50 orphan families.
The assistance included 50 food baskets for the families and also new clothes for 100 orphan children.
Also, the Halabja office of the Barzani Charity Foundation distributed financial and food assistance to a number of orphan children within Halabja.
The Duhok office of the Barzani Charity Foundation distributed 420 food baskets to poor and low-income people in Semel.
On 19/3/2026, the orphans’ and widows’ unit of the Erbil office of the Barzani Charity Foundation, in cooperation with Bidar Organization, provided new clothes for 40 orphan children in Baharka Camp 1 within Erbil Governorate.
On 21/3/2026, the representative of the Barzani Charity Foundation in the United States participated in the Nowruz festival carnival in the city of Nashville, Tennessee.
The team of the Barzani Charity Foundation, in cooperation with TKCC organization, launched an activity to introduce the Barzani Charity Foundation and highlight all its humanitarian projects and activities in serving the Kurdish community and delivering the humanitarian message of the Kurdish people to the world.
In this activity, the team of the Barzani Charity Foundation reaffirmed that strengthening the Foundation’s relations with the Kurdish diaspora abroad is a main objective to provide more services.
Also on 21/3/2026, the teams of the Zakho representative of the Barzani Charity Foundation rushed to assist several families in Rizgari sub-district within Duhok Governorate who were affected by floods. Alongside cleaning campaigns for houses, they assessed the damages, and on 30/3/2026, in coordination with the Directorate of Migration, Displacement and Crisis Response (DMCR) in Duhok, they provided food and non-food assistance to the affected families.
The assistance included (kitchen items, mattresses, blankets, pillows, heaters, carpets, clothes, food baskets, and hygiene and health kits), benefiting 60 families.
On 23 and 24 March 2026, the Barzani Charity Foundation, in cooperation with the Iraqi Ministry of Migration and Displacement, distributed white oil in Khanke Camp within Duhok Governorate to 2,116 families.
Each family received 100 liters of kerosene, and the total distributed amount was 211,600 liters.
On 24/3/2026, the Barzani Charity Foundation, in partnership with Azar Organization for Children of the World, launched an educational course for teaching reading and writing and developing the abilities of children who were unable to attend school due to their living conditions.
Nujin Project:
The Nujin Project, which is carried out annually during the holy month of Ramadan, is one of the important projects of the Barzani Charity Foundation. From 2021 until now, 64 families have benefited from it, including 12 families this year (2026). Through this project, fundamental changes have been made in their lives. It is intended that the project will continue after Ramadan so that more families in need can benefit.
The Barzani Charity Foundation is an international humanitarian organization and a trusted institution for donors and benefactors inside and outside Kurdistan. Over the past twenty years, it has continuously carried out numerous projects, relief efforts, services, and humanitarian assistance inside and outside the Kurdistan Region.
In addition to working in 10 different sectors to serve the poor, vulnerable people, displaced persons, and refugees, the Foundation has dozens of short-term and long-term projects. Among them is the Orphan Sponsorship Project (for children without fathers), through which, by the end of 2025, a total of 82,340,078 USD has been distributed to 23,463 orphan children.
