In the presence of party, governmental, and administrative officials, along with a number of media representatives and civil society organizations in Kirkuk, the annual gathering of the Kirkuk Office of the Barzani Charity Foundation was held in Kirkuk. During the event, the Foundation presented appreciation awards to a number of donors from the city and highly valued the role of media channels and institutions in covering humanitarian activities.
The gathering was attended by Musa Ahmed, President of the Barzani Charity Foundation; Hiwa Ahmed Mustafa; Dr. Shakhawan Abdullah; Mohammed Kamal; Dr. Mohammed Khurshid; Sirwan Asi; in addition to party, governmental, and administrative officials in Kirkuk. The event took place on Tuesday, 19/5/2026.
During the gathering, presentations highlighted statistics and data related to donations, projects, and activities carried out by the Kirkuk Office through the continuous support of donors in the city, whose contributions have played a major role in expanding the Foundation’s humanitarian work.
In a speech delivered at the event, Musa Ahmed stated: “We consider Kirkuk a very important region, and we are always committed to implementing the largest possible humanitarian projects in this governorate.”
He also addressed the donors attending the gathering, expressing pride and appreciation for their support and generosity, which enabled the implementation of significant humanitarian projects such as providing housing through the Nujin Project, caring for vulnerable families, distributing food parcels, organizing Qurbani meat projects, and supplying clothing, school bags, and educational materials.
Charity Work and the Philosophy of Giving
As part of the annual gathering, a special panel discussion on charity work and the philosophy of giving was held with the participation of Karzan Nuri and Dr. Hassan Sheikhani. The panel focused on the importance of giving and humanitarian work in society.
Participants emphasized that giving is not merely financial assistance, but also a humanitarian and social responsibility that benefits both donors and those in need. They agreed that charity, whether large or small, plays a vital role in strengthening social justice and unity within society and is deeply connected to all religions and beliefs.

During the ceremony, appreciation awards were presented to a number of donors from Kirkuk in recognition of their continued support for humanitarian initiatives.
In this regard, Musa Ahmed reaffirmed that the support and generosity of the donors had made it possible to carry out major humanitarian projects, including housing initiatives under the Nujin Project, support for vulnerable families, food basket distributions, Qurbani meat campaigns, and the provision of clothing and educational supplies.
He stressed that the contributions and support of the people of Kirkuk have played a highly influential role in the success of humanitarian and charitable projects.

The event also highlighted the important role of media institutions and channels in covering humanitarian activities. Certificates of appreciation and special honors were presented to several media representatives in recognition of their efforts in reporting on humanitarian projects and encouraging people to contribute and participate in charitable work.
