On Thursday, January 17, 2022, in the Soran Administration, the Barzani Charity Foundation(BCF) held the occasion of opening the emergency department in the Khalifan Hospital with the presence of the Minister of Health, the General Director of the Erbil Health Directorate, the Head of the Soran Autonomous Administration, and the President of the Barzani Charity Foundation. The budget for the project was 208,000,000 IQD. The occasion took place by holding a press conference.
In collaboration with the BCF, we managed to open this hospital in the Khalifan Town located in the Soran Administration
At the beginning of the press conference, the head of the Soran Administration Mr. Halgurd Sheikh Najib alleged: today through this initiative, we took a step forward for developing the health sector with the support of the Minister of Health Mr. Saman Barznji, the General Director of the Erbil Health Directorate Dr. Dlovan, and the President of the Barzani Charity Foundation Mr. Musa Ahmed.
He continued and informed: we know that this territory needs further assistance, but in cooperation with the BCF we managed to open this hospital in the Khalifan Town located in the Soran Administration. I appreciate this initiative by the BCF, the Minister of Health, and all the individuals who took part. In the Soran Administration, we will make our best efforts to fill all the gaps in the health sector. I also congratulate the population of Khalifan and sincerely wish this initiative could provide better health services and serve them.

Later, the KRG Minister of Health Mr. Saman Barznji declared: we are absolutely delighted to announce the end of this project and open the emergency department in the Khalifan Hospital. We know that the Khalifan Health Center had provided health services to the population of the territory throughout recent years, but was in need of an emergency department so as to provide urgent health assistance to the patients, this will lead to a decrease in the number of patients that should head to the center of Soran or Erbil. It’s worth appreciating that the BCF has taken this initiative with its partners and launched this department on such short notice.
The Minister was continued and said: this project is not important for the residents only, but also its crucial tourists as Khalifan is a strategy territory and is the center for business transportations. Opening new health centers and treatment centers will impact the delivery of service and enhance their quality. These projects take place through the overall support of the Prime Minister, the KRG government, and our partners including the NGOs, UN agencies, and specifically the Barzani Charity Foundation. The BCF has provided assistance under the health sector in many aspects including building hospitals, medical supplies, ambulances, and opening health centers in the cities, and camps. After that, the president of the BCF Mr. Musa Ahmed alleged
in the conference: in the name of Barzani Charity Foundation, we are expressing
our pleasure for handing another initiative to our people in Khalifan and
surroundings. We strongly wish we could implement similar projects for the
population of KRI. It’s worth mentioning that we implemented this project in
partnership with our fellow the member of Iraqi Parliament Mr. Nahro Rwandzi.
We are looking forward to improving this culture of collaboration. We feel
proud of being a center for gathering the charity initiatives and through their
support our mission will expand.
