Upon the direct instructions of President Masoud Barzani, and in the presence of the President of the Barzani Charity Foundation along with the Foundation’s teams, a humanitarian aid convoy consisting of 67 trucks carrying food and non-food items arrived in Qamishlo and began distribution to displaced and affected families. This major humanitarian effort has received significant attention from both local and international media outlets in the Kurdistan Region.
Following the warm and widespread welcome by the people of Rojava Kurdistan from cities and villages the humanitarian convoy and teams of the Barzani Charity Foundation entered Rojava through the Semalka border crossing from the Kurdistan Region. The convoy officially began distributing aid on Thursday, 22/1/2026, particularly in the city of Qamishlo.
Musa Ahmad, President of the Barzani Charity Foundation, along with the Foundation’s teams, is present in Qamishlo. In coordination with the Administration of Rojava Kurdistan, they are distributing the largest humanitarian convoy, comprising 67 trucks and 22 different types of aid items, to displaced persons and those affected by the crisis. Alongside aid distribution, medical services are also being provided, including examinations, treatment, and medication for the wounded and the sick.
This convoy is part of the ongoing humanitarian efforts of the Barzani Charity Foundation, supported by donors from within and outside the Kurdistan Region, aimed at assisting displaced people and vulnerable individuals living under extremely difficult humanitarian conditions.
This humanitarian initiative reflects the national and humanitarian responsibility of the Barzani Charity Foundation toward the people of Kurdistan. It was carried out under the direct guidance of President Masoud Barzani to ensure that assistance reaches those most in need.
The Barzani Charity Foundation affirms that its humanitarian support will continue, and that additional aid convoys will be sent to affected areas in the future in order to help improve the humanitarian situation.

From the very beginning of this humanitarian mission, the Kurdistan Democratic Party in Syria expressed its deep gratitude and high appreciation to President Masoud Barzani and the Barzani Charity Foundation.
In a statement published in English, the party noted:
“The arrival of this convoy in the regions of Hasakah and Afrin, and the support provided to refugees, displaced persons, and affected families, represents a significant and effective humanitarian step to reduce the suffering of civilians and reflects a strong sense of national and humanitarian responsibility toward our people during this sensitive phase.”
The teams of the Barzani Charity Foundation will continue providing services in Rojava for as long as assistance is needed. As stated by the President of the Foundation:
“This is the first convoy, but humanitarian assistance will continue on a large scale until the situation in Rojava Kurdistan returns to normal.”
