In the presence of representatives of the Barzani Charity Foundation, several Members of the British Parliament and the House of Lords, members of the London municipal authorities, a number of Turkish parliamentarians, the Governor of Sulaymaniyah, and many political, academic, and civil society figures, as well as guests from all parts of Kurdistan, in addition to representatives of British and Kurdistan media outlets, the Labour Group, in recognition of the humanitarian efforts and services of the Barzani Charity Foundation, presented its Annual Honorary Award to the Foundation. The ceremony took place on 20 January 2026 during the Labour Group’s annual conference at the Sheraton Grand Hotel in London.
Following a comprehensive evaluation and review conducted by the conference’s supervisory committee, it was decided to select the Barzani Charity Foundation as the sole charitable organization to receive this award, as an expression of appreciation for the tireless efforts, dedication, and unwavering commitment of the Foundation’s staff and its selfless volunteer teams, who continue to serve humanitarian causes with perseverance and sincerity.
On behalf of the President of the Barzani Charity Foundation, Awat Mustafa expressed his sincere gratitude and appreciation to the organizers and the members of the supervisory committee of the Labour Group Conference in the United Kingdom. He stated that this distinguished award carries profound moral significance and serves as a strong source of encouragement for the Barzani Charity Foundation, particularly as all participants and attendees of the conference expressed their respect and recognition for the Foundation’s past achievements, its current efforts, and its future mission.
The representative of the Barzani Charity Foundation further emphasized that the Foundation belongs to all the people of Kurdistan and serves all communities without discrimination. Wherever a humanitarian crisis arises, the Foundation acts on behalf of the people of Kurdistan to provide assistance and humanitarian support.
