As part of its ongoing humanitarian efforts to support poor and low-income families and to extend a helping hand during the blessed days of Eid, the Barzani Charity Foundation successfully implemented its 2026 Eid al-Adha projects with the support and sponsorship of generous donors. All activities were completed successfully and within the scheduled timeframe.
This large-scale national campaign, carried out under the close supervision and careful planning of the Foundation’s field teams, reflected a remarkable spirit of compassion and solidarity. Through this humanitarian initiative, six strategic projects were implemented across two main sectors, benefiting a total of 26,570 families and 135,832 individuals through various forms of assistance, enabling them to share in the joy of Eid.
Sector One: Food Security and Provision of Essential Needs
As in previous years, this sector represented the largest and most significant component of the campaign. Its primary objective was to strengthen food security and meet the essential needs of vulnerable families during Eid. With the financial support of dedicated sponsors and donors, the Barzani Charity Foundation assisted a total of 26,570 families equivalent to 135,507 individuals through three major projects:
Eid Food Basket Distribution Project
This project was the largest phase of the campaign. Through a well-organized distribution process, food baskets containing essential food items were delivered to 13,270 families, directly benefiting 67,677 individuals.
Flour Distribution Project
Recognizing the importance of flour as a staple household necessity, the Foundation implemented a dedicated flour distribution project. Through this initiative, the burden on 6,800 families, representing 34,680 individuals, was significantly eased.
Qurbani Meat Distribution Project
In line with the traditions of Eid al-Adha, the Foundation’s field teams distributed Qurbani meat during the first days of Eid. Through this project, 6,500 families, representing 33,150 individuals, benefited and were able to celebrate the occasion with greater dignity and joy.
Sector Two: Non-Food Items (NFI) and Eid Clothing for Vulnerable Children
This sector focused on the humanitarian, psychological, and social dimensions of support. It was dedicated to purchasing and providing new Eid clothing for children, orphans, and other vulnerable individuals across several regions. The objective was not only to meet a practical need but also to bring happiness and a sense of inclusion during the Eid celebrations.
A total of 325 individuals benefited from this sector through the following projects:
Eid Clothing for Vulnerable Children in Nineveh Governorate
The Foundation successfully purchased and distributed new and appropriate Eid clothing to 220 beneficiaries in Nineveh, bringing joy to their families during the holiday.
Eid Clothing for Vulnerable Children in Halabja Governorate
Through this humanitarian initiative, Eid clothing was provided to 90 beneficiaries in Halabja Governorate.
Eid Clothing for Vulnerable Children in Erbil Governorate
The project also successfully provided new Eid clothing to 15 beneficiaries in Erbil Governorate.
A Collective Humanitarian Achievement
The success of the 2026 Eid al-Adha projects is first and foremost the result of the unwavering support and generosity of sponsors and donors, as well as the dedication, commitment, and tireless efforts of the Barzani Charity Foundation’s implementation teams in the field.
Despite logistical challenges, all projects were completed on schedule and reached their intended beneficiaries before the end of the Eid holiday. These initiatives demonstrated that strong cooperation between humanitarian organizations and generous sponsors can create meaningful change, reduce the burden on thousands of families, and inspire renewed hope within communities.
Through these efforts, the Barzani Charity Foundation continues to uphold its mission of serving humanity, promoting solidarity, and supporting vulnerable communities across the region.
