During Eid al-Adha, Humanitarian Organizations and Donors Support Camp Residents

The Barzani Charity Foundation manages camps for internally displaced persons and refugees across the Kurdistan Region. It continues to provide food and non-food assistance, as well as vocational and educational training programs. During the blessed days of Eid al-Adha, the Foundation distributed 340 tons of flour to camp residents.
This comes at a time when Iraq’s Ministry of Migration and Displacement provides very limited support, even to Iraqi IDPs who are citizens of Iraq and reside in camps throughout the Kurdistan Region. Nevertheless, during this Eid, in coordination with the Barzani Charity Foundation, generous donors from Kurdistan and several humanitarian organizations stepped forward to support camp residents according to their capacities.
The assistance provided included:
On 26 May 2026, in cooperation with a humanitarian organization, chicken meat was distributed to 720 families in Hasan Sham U3 Camp. The same initiative was carried out in Hasan Sham U2 Camp, benefiting 90 families. In Khazir M1 Camp, within Erbil Governorate, chicken meat was distributed to 147 families. Also on 26 May 2026, with the support of CHAI ENJOY Company, food assistance was distributed to 147 families in Khazir M1 Camp. On the same day, with the support of the Baranati Group, 720 families in Hasan Sham U3 Camp received cash assistance (IQD 75,000 per family), food baskets, and flour.
