Barzani Charity Foundation provided emergency relief to internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Namrood and Salamiya in Nineveh Governorate who were left vulnerable by the recent flooding in the area.
Over 1,600 displaced families were once again displaced in the mentioned camps in Nineveh. The mayor of the central Mosul called on President Barzani to send aid to the flood-affected IDPs in Salamiya and Namrood camps in the region.
The BCF responded to the call by delivering its first aid convoy to those camps where 1,600 families are settled.
The Head of the BCF’s Aid and Relief Department, Ismail Abdul Aziz, stated that “After President Barzani decided to help the flood-affected people, we delivered assistance to the inhabitants of Nmarood and Salamiyah camps in which more than 1,600 families live. After the flooding, they were sheltered in the school buildings in the area.” He noted that the assistance included clothes, blankets, hygiene supplies and food, adding that they will continue to assist them.
