The President of Barzani Charity Foundation (BCF) presented the latest statistics on humanitarian assistance delivered to Rojava Kurdistan and emphasized the importance of properly packaging aid donations to facilitate the work of distribution teams and enable faster and more effective support for displaced families.
On Friday, 30 January 2026, during a media conference, Musa Ahmad, President of Barzani Charity Foundation, shared the most recent data on humanitarian assistance sent to Rojava Kurdistan. He highlighted that donors from Kurdistan and around the world continue to send aid, stating: “We extend our sincere gratitude to every organization and institution that sends assistance to Rojava Kurdistan.”
He also stressed that Barzani Charity Foundation fully respects the identity of all contributing organizations, confirming that any institution with its own name and logo will have its assistance distributed under that name and logo.
Musa Ahmad explained that BCF teams, along with the Kurdish Red Crescent, are carrying a heavy responsibility in distributing aid, as large trucks cannot access narrow streets and much of the assistance arrives without proper packaging. Regarding food assistance, he noted: “Food aid covers approximately two weeks for each family and must be replenished regularly.”
Addressing displacement figures, he stated that there is no fully precise or reliable statistic on the total number of displaced people, but estimates indicate that more than 170,000 individuals have been displaced.
He further stated: “Aid will reach Hasakah today, and we are prepared to deliver assistance to Kobane within less than 24 hours. We remain in continuous coordination with the United Nations and the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to achieve this.”
The President of Barzani Charity Foundation then presented the latest figures on humanitarian assistance delivered to Rojava Kurdistan:
255 truckloads of food, non-food items, medical supplies, and fuel delivered
7,475 displaced families benefited from the assistance, currently sheltering in 160 schools and 9 mosques
241,632 liters of fuel distributed to 178 schools and 10 mosques
25,589 hot meals distributed in 69 schools and 5 mosques
3,160 people received medical treatment in 41 schools
478 job opportunities were created
He also clarified that each food basket weighs 20 kilograms and contains 12 essential items. Hygiene kits, mattresses, and blankets remain consistent, with occasional adjustments based on needs. In addition, hot meals are prepared in three kitchens located in Qamishlo, Amuda, and Derik, and distributed to displaced families in schools and mosques.
From the outset of the conflict and the resulting humanitarian crisis that displaced thousands of families in Rojava Kurdistan, Barzani Charity Foundation under the direction of President Barzani, launched a large-scale humanitarian campaign to collect and deliver aid to the region. Distribution efforts by BCF teams have continued intensively and without interruption, providing daily services and assistance across multiple sectors.
Beyond delivering aid, Barzani Charity Foundation has served as a strong bridge between the people of Rojava Kurdistan and local and international organizations, ensuring that humanitarian assistance reaches displaced and affected communities in the most effective manner.
With the support of donors from all segments of society, BCF’s humanitarian campaigns continue on a wide scale. BCF teams, consisting of more than 150 staff members across all Foundation offices, are actively providing food assistance, healthcare services, logistics support, and field operations to the people of Rojava Kurdistan.
