A high-level international delegation consisting of Sardar Yüksel, Member of the German Federal Parliament for the ruling party (SPD) and member of the Parliament’s International Relations Committee, Klaus Ingel, former Chairman of the Board of Directors of Evonik and Member of the Council of Investments and Donors in Germany, Hendrik Gross, Head of Schwäbische Medien, Head of Helfen bringt Freude, Sherzad Thomas, Director General of Caritas Essen in Iraq, and Dennis Kartal, photographer and journalist. On Thursday October 2, 2025, visited the Presidency of Barzani Charity Foundation in Erbil and in a special ceremony Mr. Sardar Yuksel officially presented the Parliamentary Award and appreciation letter from a number of German parliamentarians to Mr. Musa Ahmad, President of Barzani Charity Foundation.
At the beginning of the ceremony, the President of Barzani Charity Foundation welcomed the guest delegation and staff of the foundation, said that the German delegation has been supporting the projects of Barzani Charity Foundation for ten years. They have also done a lot of services to refugees, orphans, children with disabilities and children with autism. He added that 12 German parliamentarians will visit the Kurdistan Region next Newroz.
The President of Barzani Charity Foundation considered the award as an honor for Barzani Charity Foundation.
Then, Mr. Sardar Yüksel delivered a speech and expressed his pleasure to meet the staff of the foundation and pointed out that his first visit to the Kurdistan Region was planned and called Barzani Charity Foundation as a “brother and trusted partner” and said: “There are few examples like Barzani Charity Foundation in the whole world.” “You have traveled thousands of kilometers to come to us and the Kurdish nation has the right to be proud of having an organization like Barzani Charity Foundation. We are trying to officially register the name of this organization in Germany,” he added.
At the end of his speech, Mr. Yüksel said that the Speaker of the German Federal Parliament has instructed him to convey his special greetings to the President and employees of the Barzani Charity Foundation.
