In the presence of Musa Ahmad, President of Barzani Charity Foundation, Omid Khoshnaw, Governor of Erbil, Colonel Nali Nawzad, Director of Civil Defense of Erbil Province, on 3\7\2025 at the Presidency of Barzani Charity Foundation, in Erbil, an emergency training course for the Erbil Provincial Rapid Response Team and the Barzani Charity Foundation team has ended.
The course lasted three days and 40 people (20 employees of Barzani Charity Foundation and 20 employees of the rapid response team) participated in the course and received full training in the areas of (civil defense – first aid – team leadership – how to use team equipment). The aim of the course was to prepare and strengthen the ability to respond and rescue in case of any unexpected event.
Barzani Charity Foundation in coordination with the Rapid Response Team (RRU) of the Directorate of Migration, Refugees and Crisis Response/EJCC in Erbil province, conducted the course and at the end of the course the participants were awarded certificates.
Sarhid Hamid, director of the rapid response team in Erbil province, spoke for Barzani Charity Foundation media about the course and said: “We as the Rapid Response Team in Erbil Province, in coordination with Barzani Charity Foundation, opened a three-day course for members of the emergency team of Barzani Charity Foundation and members of the Rapid Response Team in Erbil Province. In order to prepare and strengthen the ability to respond and rescue in case of any unwanted incident, which began on 1\7\2025 and ended today (3\7\2025). On the first day, civil defense, on the second day, first aid and on the third day, team leadership (how to use team equipment) were presented to the participants in both theory and practice and the participants were prepared to be able to respond to any unwanted events or natural disasters such as earthquakes, floods and fires.”
The director of the rapid response team in Erbil province, stressed that the course activities were very successful, and the participants of the course received good experience in practice. He added that the rapid response team in Erbil province was established in 2018 and, by the trainers of the German Federal Agency for Technical Assistance, which belongs to the German Ministry of Interior, have received several trainings. He also said: “This is the second training for the rapid response team of Barzani Charity Foundation. We consider it necessary in the near future to be able to conduct a practical training for the teams of Barzani Charity Foundation, as the rapid response team in Erbil.
Karez Omar, the presenter of the closing ceremony, who was a member of the course for three days, talked about the course and said: “The lessons were taught by expert and experienced teachers, during these three days, a team was formed ready to respond and rescue in case of any unexpected incident. To strengthen the team, they should see several more practical courses. But I hope no one intends to have these teams, that is, everyone is away from natural disasters such as earthquakes, fires, floods and wars.”
