Barzani Charity Foundation, in accordance with the directives and instructions of President Masoud Barzani to deliver humanitarian assistance from the Kurdistan Region to Rojava (West Kurdistan), continues its relief and aid distribution campaign. On Wednesday, February 11, 2026, Karzan Noori, a member of the Foundation’s Executive Board, announced during a press conference held in Qamishli an important project to distribute free bread to the residents of the city.
Karzan Noori expressed his sincere gratitude and appreciation, noting that thanks to the generosity, compassion, and humanitarian spirit of the people of the Kurdistan Region and donors, the Foundation was able to supply 200 tons of flour to bakeries in Qamishli. This amount will produce 480,000 bundles of bread, equivalent to 3,360,000 loaves, which will be distributed free of charge to the people of Qamishli.
In recent times, due to the difficult humanitarian and economic conditions in Rojava, the population has faced numerous hardships, including limited services and the closure or shortage of functioning bakeries. Many families have been unable to secure fresh bread, creating significant challenges for residents across the region. To help address these difficulties and support the population, the Barzani Charity Foundation initiated a program to assist local bakeries by providing flour and fuel, while also distributing charity bread directly to residents.
These humanitarian efforts, particularly the continuous provision of fresh bread, offer vital support to the local population. At the same time, they contribute to stabilizing the market by helping maintain relative price stability for flour and fuel. This initiative represents an important source of relief and support for both displaced persons and residents throughout Rojava.
