Turkish Consul General Thanks BCF for Quick Response to Earthquake Disaster

The Consul General of Turkey in Erbil, Mr. Memet Mevlut Yakut, visited Barzani Charity Foundation (BCF) on February 23, 2023, to express their appreciation for the humanitarian aid delivered by the BCF to the earthquake victims in Turkey.
The Turkish consul general was warmly welcomed by Mr. Musa Ahmed, BCF President and Deputy President of the foundation.
The BCF president briefed the visiting delegation on the activities of the foundation and thanked the Turkish Consulate General for their cooperation and facilitation for the charity teams to deliver aid to the victims in Turkey and the city of Afrin.
On behalf of Turkey and the Turkish people, Mr. Yakut thanked the Kurdistan Regional Government, Prime Minister Masrour Barzani, Barzani Charity Foundation and the Kurdish people for their quick relief response and assistance to the affected people by the earthquake on 6/2/2023 in Turkey. He stated that “the BCF was among the first to reach the earthquake stricken areas.”
Later, the Turkish Consul General, accompanied by the BCF President, visited the warehouse and the place where the aid is prepared daily and sent to Turkey and Syria.
After the earthquake in Turkey and Syria, the KRG PM instructed the government entities and the BCF to respond to the disaster. The BCF teams, accompanied by convoys of aid, crossed the border and reached the affected areas in less than 12 hours after the quake. The BCF was also the first international relief organization to deliver aid to Afrin in Syria.
