Barzani Charity Foundation announces an environmental project on its 19th anniversary

In the presence of Mr. Musa Ahmad, President of Barzani Charity Foundation, Omid Khoshnaw, Governor of Erbil, Dr. Samaan Barzanji, Minister of Health of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Abdulrahman Sadiq, President of Kurdistan Environment Board and a number of government officials and civil activists. On Sunday 4\8\2024, Ms. Chnar Sami, a medical employee of Barzani Charity Foundation, announced the project “Clean Water, Individual Health” in a press conference held at the Presidency of Barzani Charity Foundation on the occasion of the 19th anniversary of its establishment. She also discussed in detail the dangers of plastic waste in terms of medical science and the environment, adding that the project aims to avoid the use of plastic bottled water, which is very harmful to the environment. In this context, all employees of Barzani Charity Foundation were distributed water meters and water coolers were installed in the departments of the agency.
Mr. Musa Ahmad, President of Barzani Charity Foundation, welcomed the participants and delivered a word of congratulations from Mr. Masrour Barzani the executive board of Barzani Charity Foundation to the employees of the Foundation. He added: “The employees of the Barzani Charity Foundation, who are educated in the path of the late Barzani, especially those who have listened to the great speech of the late Barzani who said: “It is a pride to be a servant of one’s nation”. They are the ones that stand side by side in grief and happiness with those people who are taking refuge in the secure Kurdistan Region.”
The head of the Barzani Charity Foundation said that after the attack of ISIS terrorists and its massacres and displacement of citizens in 2014, the teams of the Barzani Charity Foundation in less than 150 days provided 9 million 900 thousand hot meals. He hoped that peace would prevail in Kurdistan and the whole world and avoid disasters. About the project he claimed: “Protecting the environment is one of the main slogans of the Barzani Charity Foundation. In the path of the late Barzani, the environment has a special and important place. We have announced this decision in support of the projects of the Environmental Board, by stopping bottled water that our colleague talks about the harms. Dr. Chnar Sami submitted the project with the Human Resources Department of Barzani Charity Foundation, which we congratulate. We hope that government agencies, organizations and companies will join us in supporting the Environmental Commission in this beautiful campaign.
The President of Barzani Charity Foundation expressed the readiness of the Foundation to coordinate with the Kurdistan Environmental Board and serve and work together to promote the environment.

The governor of Erbil spoke about the environmental protection project of Barzani Charity Foundation and stressed that environmental protection is a basic principle in Barzani’s path and appreciated the work and activities of Barzani Charity Foundation in this field.
After welcoming the participants, Mr. Abdulrahman Sadiq, Chairman of the Kurdistan Environmental Board, said: “There are many slogans, but the art is to turn the slogans into reality. And today in the 19th anniversary of Barzani Charity Foundation we see the action.
The head of the Kurdistan Environmental Board stressed that the United Nations included the word environment in its official documents in 1972 and Sheikh Ahmad Barzan talked about environmental protection decades ago. He added that the Kurdistan Environmental Board in October 2020 under the slogan “Let’s start with ourselves” in the Environmental Board and all offices have banned the use of plastic bottles.
