Barzani Charity Foundation (BCF) has opened the new building of the College of Islamic Sciences at Salahaddin University in Erbil in the presence of several religious and academic figures and government and administrative officials.
In the presence of Pshtiwan Sadiq, Minister of Endowments and Religious Affairs and Representative of the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Musa Ahmad, President of Barzani Charity Foundation, Omid Khoshnaw, Governor of Erbil, Kuwait Consul General in the Kurdistan Region President of the Union of Kurdistan Religious Scholars, Presidency of Salahaddin University and several academics and government and administrative officials, The new building of the College of Islamic Sciences at Salahaddin University in Erbil was officially opened on Wednesday 2\10\2024 in a special ceremony.
Along with welcoming the participants, a video of the construction of this unique building was shown. The College of Islamic Sciences building was constructed at a cost of $4,556,530 on an area of 13,000 square meters. A period of 456 days was set for completion of the building.
Then the speech of Mr. Masrour Barzani, Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, was read by Mr. Pshtiwan Sadiq, Minister of Endowments and Religious Affairs. In his message, the Prime Minister first expressed his greetings and congratulations to the participants and then highlighted the effective role of serving the Kurds with Islamic science and stressed that in Kurdistan we have not had religious problems, but the problem of national identity that teachers and religious people can play a significant role in this area. “The Kurdish nation is a Muslim and peaceful nation,” he said. “We are proud of religious and ethnic coexistence in Kurdistan. It is very important that we all preserve this coexistence as our own eyes.” He added that more than one million Arab brothers and sisters live in Erbil and Duhok. He stressed that the Kurdistan Region’s relations with Islamic countries in the region are very good and cited the opening of the new building of the College of Islamic Sciences as an example He also thanked the Kuwaiti consul in the Kurdistan Region, who “has played a role in strengthening the relationship between the people and government of the Kurdistan Region with the people and government of Kuwait.”
Afterwards, a video of the construction of the College of Islamic Sciences in Tikrit was shown. Afterwards, Mr. Musa Ahmad, President of Barzani Charity Foundation, welcomed the participants and called the opening of the new building of the College of Islamic Sciences in Erbil a source of pride and hoped that “It would be a strong link between the scientific centers of the Kurdistan Region and the religious scientific centers of Kuwait.”
The president of Barzani Charity Foundation in continuation of his speech said: “On behalf of Barzani Charity Foundation, we would like to thank the Kuwaiti Ighasa Society for their unlimited trust in Barzani Charity Foundation. They insisted that the College of Islamic Sciences at Tikrit University be supervised by the Barzani Charity Foundation.” In the last part of his speech, he thanked the current and former consuls of Kuwait in the Kurdistan Region, who were like a mountain behind the assistance and delivery of various humanitarian assistance in the field of food, non-food and education.
Barzani Charity Foundation in collaboration with Kuwait Relief Society and Salahaddin University in Erbil laid the foundation stone of this college on 8/6/2024. The Barzani Charity Foundation has been entrusted with the construction of a similar college in Tikrit.
