The International Day for Combating Violence against Women will be commemorated in Duhok, Erbil and Nineveh provinces camps and a number of women will be awarded.
Barzani Charity Foundation in coordination with Mission Enfance and other organizations working in the camp, on 25\11\2024 in Khanke camp in Duhok province, on the occasion of the International Day for Combating Violence against Women held a ceremony and after an awareness seminar, 10 women were awarded at the ceremony.
On 25\11\2024 in Rwanga camp with the assistance of seed organization and on 26\11\2024 in the same camp with the assistance of Dolsa organization same ceremonies and activities were held. In the same day with the assistance of INTERSOS organization, an awareness seminar on the law against domestic violence was held on the occasion of the 16-day campaign to combat violence against women under the slogan “Every 10 minutes a woman is killed (# without excuse)”. which included types of domestic violence, complaint procedures and how many Related issues were discussed at the Tirezh Cultural and Social Center in Basrma camp in Erbil province.
Also, in Darashakran camp, on 28/11/2024, at Qadri Jan Cultural and Social Center together with TDH participated in organizing an art exhibition, which included paintings and handicrafts of more than 70 artists.
On the same date, with the assistance of The Stirling Foundation-Ifmsa, a video clip on combating violence against women was screened at the Osman Sabri Cultural and Social Center in Qushtapa camp.
On 29\11\2024, an activity was held in the center of Sinjar in Bork community in Sunune village and in the ceremony, they emphasized that women are a symbol of giving, compassion and resistance, which is reflected in improving human relations in society.
