Sami Abdulrahman, director of the “Educational Project of the Dear Ones” at the Barzani Charity Foundation, in an interview with Kurdistan TV, in the “Good Morning Kurdistan” program, talks about the project. That In the first phase, it will include 5,000 orphans and they will try to reach out to all orphans in Kurdistan in the next phases.
Sami Abdulrahman, Director of the “Educational Project” of the Barzani Charity Foundation, on Saturday July 19, 2025, in an interview with Kurdistan TV, said that Musa Ahmad, President of the Barzani Charity Foundation, has often insisted that our main duty is education. However, due to the needs of the needy and their relief, we have reached out to many other areas of humanitarian work, without discrimination, race, ethnicity, religion and ideology, and the important thing was to serve people and humanity.”
The director of the educational project said that the educational project has been working for two years and for seven months as a test with (one-third) of the Orphans, who are registered and paid salaries. He also said: “Our main goal in this project is to educate a productive and patriotic person and one of the main goals of the Barzani Charity Foundation in the project is to continue the education process of the Orphans, who are supported by several projects.”
According to him, the salaries of the UAE project will continue until the age of 18 and the Kurdistan project until they complete their studies.
Sami Abdulrahman, about the educational project, said that in the first step, 5,000 children will be worked with as a scientific test in the field of education, while they have educational and psychological courses and seminars for children. He also said: “We expect to cover all the orphans in the Barzani Charity Foundation in the second phase and in the third phase we will try to coordinate with the relevant parties, especially the Ministry of Education of the Kurdistan Regional Government. And deliver this project to every home.
The director of the educational project of the dear ones, while answering the questions of the presenter of the program, talked about the orphans’ application and claimed: “The first part is educational video lessons that thanks to teachers from all Kurdistan universities and 41 teachers and experts from different departments volunteered to help us. We have another part called ‘Consult’, where mothers or children themselves If they have any problems, especially in the field of education, they can send us a letter and we will respond directly and help them.” He added: “The educational project is based on a number of basic principles, philosophical, scientific, legal and even in terms of social values, we rely on Barzani’s path, which is humanity, patriotism and respect for religions We have selected several other theories in the field of education, and we have full coordination with several psychiatrists, so that if we have a special case, we can send them to them.”
Since its establishment, the Orphans Educational Project has provided 67 seminars and educational training courses to 4,044 dear ones and their families in all offices of Barzani Charity Foundation. It has also provided educational and psychological guidance and support in the fields of (organizing their lifestyle and time, encouraging and teaching the arts of learning) to 586 orphans, published 3,000 booklets and cultural and educational brochures.
