Barzani Charity Foundation distributes Kurdish language learning books and gifts to children at a Kurdish social festival in Nashville.
The Nashville Center of the Kurdish Diaspora Confederation organized a special festival for the Kurdish Diaspora in Nashville which is the capital of the Tennessee state of America known as the small Kurdistan on Sunday, October 13, 2025. Meanwhile, the representation of Barzani Charity Foundation in the United States was also invited to the event.
Khunav Amin, the representative of Barzani Charity Foundation, in coordination with the Ministry of Education of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, distributed Kurdish language learning books to Kurdish children.
The aim of the participation of the representative of Barzani Charity Foundation in the event was to introduce the projects and activities of the foundation and build trust with the Kurdish diaspora.
For his part, Mr. Nizar Sharanshi, Director of the Kurdistan Diaspora Center in Nashville, thanked Khunav Amin for attending the festival and distributing books and prizes to the children.
Nashville, Tennessee, is known as the capital of country music, but is called “Little Kurdistan” by Kurds living in the city.
On September 9, 2023, the two cities of Erbil and Nashville, Tennessee, announced their sisterhood agreement and was signed by Mr. Omid Khoshnaw, Governor of Erbil and Mr. John Cooper, Mayor of Nashville.
Sisterhood of cities is a term for legal and administrative agreements between two cities of two countries, which have social and cultural similarities and want to cooperate and coordinate in various fields.
With the agreement, the two administrations of the city will be open to Para diplomacy in the fields of information, arts, culture, education, law, health care, administration, higher education and technology, sports, trade and local governance to have cooperative works together in the previously mentioned fields.
