In the presence of the President of Barzani Charity Foundation, donors, a number of government officials, humanitarian activists and their families, in a special ceremony held on Tuesday October 28, 2025 at the Presidency of Barzani Charity Foundation in Erbil, The Kurdistan Project was announced to distribute financial assistance worth more than one million dollars.
Mr. Musa Ahmad, President of Barzani Charity Foundation, in a speech to the participants, while welcoming them, highlighted the projects and activities and services that the Widows’ and Orphans’ department has provided for the children and their families. He also thanked the donors of Kurdistan, adding that despite the crisis and economic ups and downs, capitalists, donors and owners of companies in Kurdistan, did not give up this project for fourteen years that continued to provide assistance and donations. He also thanked all other donors and donor countries for their support to the projects.
The President of Barzani Charity Foundation said that in 2012, in the presence of His Excellency Mr. Masrour Barzani, Chairman of the Founding Board of Barzani Charity Foundation, the project of caring for orphans / Kurdistan section was announced. “We are proud that more than 8,000 orphans have been helped and carried in their lives and have become owners of their homes and children and have started their own lives,” he added.
According to the president of the Barzani Charity Foundation, 3609 children in all provinces of the Kurdistan Region and other cities will be distributed 1 million 65 thousand 400 dollars.
Mali Azizan has various projects and includes providing services (material, educational, health, providing studying opportunities, organizing scientific trips, providing recreational activities such as horseback riding, swimming, drawing and playing, providing clothes and school supplies, etc.
The monthly allowance of Kurdistan’s orphans is $50 per month, which is distributed to the orphans every six months through the units of the orphans’ houses in all offices.
The total distributions of the House of Orphans until 2025 was $82 million 340 thousand
The number of dear ones including all projects (Kurdistan, UAE, Poland, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait) is 23 thousand 463 dear ones.
In the Kurdistan project, 27 million 786 thousand 233 dollars have been distributed to 5 thousand 888 orphans.
At this stage, the Mali Azizan project relies on the cooperation and sponsorship of companies, investors and Charity donors.
Some of the services that Barzani Charity Foundation provides to children and their families are:
• Awarding the first 12th grade students in Kurdistan
• Provide health insurance for orphans
• Conducting examinations, surgeries and medical treatment for orphans
• Distribution of salaries of orphans in the Kurdistan Project
• Provide studying chances for orphans
• Provide clothes, bags, libraries and school supplies for orphans
• Make orphans happy by visiting swimming pools, parks, equestrian grounds and beaches
• Provide dry food baskets, hot food and donate sacrificial meat
• Opening educational and training courses
• Addressing educational, psychological and social problems of orphans and their families
