The short documentary film “Repatriation” has been selected for a Special Screening at the 7th Kobani International Film Festival, held in Germany, bringing the film one step closer to competing for an international award.
The film tells the moving story of a young man’s journey from the dark and devastated prisons of Syria back to the warmth of his parents’ embrace in the Kurdistan Region.
As part of the festival’s program, Repatriation has been selected for a Special Screening at the 7th Kobani International Film Festival in Germany. The film presents a deeply human story filled with pain, resilience, and hope, reflecting the experiences of a young man from the Kurdistan Region.
Its selection for screening at international film festivals provides an important opportunity to bring human stories and voices from the Kurdistan Region to European cinematic platforms and introduce wider audiences to the realities behind them.
The film is scheduled to be screened on Friday, September 4, 2026, at 6:40 p.m. at the main hall of Schauburg Filmpalast Cinema in Germany.
The documentary short film Repatriation was produced by the Barzani Charity Foundation (BCF). Rawaj Haji, a member of the BCF Board of Directors, served as the film’s producer.
Previously, the short film was also selected to advance to the awards stage of the Indie International Film Festival in Paris, further strengthening its presence on the international film festival circuit.
