Genocide of Yazidi Community Commemorated in Camps in Duhok

On the ninth anniversary of the genocide against the Yazidi Kurds, the residents of the IDP camps in Duhok province gathered to condemn the heinous attack of ISIS in Sinjar and remember the lives taken by the tragedy.

A mourning ceremony was also held in the camps of Rwanga, Mam Rashan, Shekhan, Dawdiya, Cham Mshko, Isyan, Khanke, Bajdkandal and Darkari in the province.

The Barzani Charity Foundation also commemorated the genocidal crime on its ninth anniversary and paid tribute to the victims and wished freedom to all the Yazidi sisters and mothers from the hands of terrorists.

The foundation, reiterated its support to the Yazidis as it made every effort to help the displaced since the first day of the terrorists’ attack.

 “We reiterate our call on international agencies to continue to support the displaced Yazidi Kurds. They need and deserve all kinds of assistance to overcome their trauma,” said the BCF in a statement.

The foundation also calls on the United Nations and other international humanitarian agencies to help recognize the crimes against the Yazidi Kurds as genocide in all countries to find justice and restore their rights.

After continued efforts of the Kurdistan Region, the United Kingdom and nine other countries have recognized the genocide against the Kurdish Yazidi people.
