The Governor of Erbil and the Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Erbil appreciate the role of Barzani Charity Foundation in welcoming the pilgrims of Imam Hussein’s 40th mourning anniversary and the quality of their services.
In a press conference held on 20/8/2024 in the presence of Mr. Musa Ahmad, President of Barzani Charity Foundation, Mr. Omid Khoshnaw, Governor of Erbil and Mr. Nasrollah Rashnoodi, Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Erbil and they mentioned the arrival of the pilgrims of Imam Hussein’s 40th mourning anniversary and thanked Barzani Charity Foundation for welcoming and providing a place to rest for the pilgrims and providing food for them and appreciated the quality of services.
Mr. Nasrollah Rashnoodi, Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Erbil, welcomed the participants and expressed his gratitude to the Kurdistan Regional Government, Barzani CharityFoundation, police, security, transportation and health departments for facilitating and providing services. He added “I will refrain from mentioning the names of all the parties that are serving the pilgrims of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) for the third year in the Kurdistan Region and I want to name all who helped especially Barzani Charity Foundation and we wish that they can manage this process in the coming year as well.
The Iranian Consul General in Erbil said that more than 75,000 pilgrims came to Erbil from Haji Omeran gate from 8/8/2024 to 20/8/2024, which is a significant number and the number will increase in the coming days. He also gave the good news to the pilgrims that the Kurdistan Regional Government buses carrying pilgrims have been assigned a place near Karbala, so that the pilgrims do not get lost on their way back. After that, Erbil Governor Omid Khoshnaw welcomed the participants and said that this is the third year that pilgrims come to Erbil from Haji Omeran gate and good experience has been received in the past two years. And This year, pilgrims visiting the holy cities of Iraq from Erbil are served much better. Meanwhile he added that: “We in the Kurdistan Regional Government and at all levels, especially under the recommendations and guidelines of President Masoud Barzani, who has ordered from the first day, that we have to provide all what should be provided to the pilgrims. The President and the Prime Minister have consistently praised this work and instructed all parties, the administration, security and police agencies, health services and all other parties to provide necessary services. The Interior Minister is also constantly monitoring the process.”
In the ending sentences the governor said: “Thank God, no problems have occurred and I would like to thank all the government teams, and I would like to thank the Barzani CharityFoundation for providing facilities to these people in coordination with the crisis center,”.
