The ceremony of Hope and Smile took place in the Capital of Kurdistan and Mr. Masrour Barzani presented the keys to 540 housing units to the families of martyrs, meanwhile, children with thalassemia, autism, children treated abroad, children with disabilities and first orphan graders in schools attended the ceremony and were awarded.
In the presence of Mr. Masrour Barzani, Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Mr. Musa Ahmad, President of Barzani Charity Foundation and a number of government and administrative officials and civil activists, Barzani Charity Foundation on 13\10\2024 held a special ceremony called (Platform of Hope and Smile) in Erbil, the capital. The ceremony was attended by a number of children who graduated from the UAE Center for Autism. A number of children with thalassemia, some children who have undergone heart surgery due to congenital diseases and a number of children with disabilities who have benefited from the wheelchair project also participated in the ceremony. A number of orphans who graduated with very high marks and were first in schools participated in the ceremony and got special gifts and awards.
The second part of the ceremony was a great activity to serve the proud families of the martyrs who were martyred in the fight against ISIS and defending the territory and identity of Kurdistan. The keys of 540 housing units were presented to the families of the martyrs by Mr. Masrour Barzani.
Prime Minister Masrour Barzani, Chairman of the Founding Board of the Barzani Charity Foundation, delivered a speech at the ceremony and stressed that: “The ceremony was held on the recommendations, orders and instructions of President Barzani who believes that all the people of Kurdistan, all of us, consider ourselves indebted to you (the proud families of the martyrs); It is our duty and pride to serve you.”
In continuation of his speech he added more and talked about the donation of the 540 housing units and said: “It is a very small duty in return for the sacrifice you have made for your people and country. Nothing can compensate for your sacrifice except God Himself, May Allah reward you in the Hereafter as He has made you proud in this world.” Also, he said: “Whatever we can do for the proud families of the martyrs is too little and unfortunately due to the local and regional situation, we may not be able to serve you properly, although serving the proud families of the martyrs has been our priority, the governments, as well as the Barzani Charity Foundation.” “We have tried to do what we can to facilitate the lives of citizens, especially the proud families of martyrs; Such as providing facilities and health supplies for those in need, or providing educational opportunities for the proud children of martyrs.”
Mr. Musa Ahmad, President of Barzani Charity Foundation, welcomed the participants and said that “day by day more trust is being built between Kurdistan citizens, investors, international organizations and Barzani Charity Foundation and Barzani Charity Foundation is seen as a bridge Barzani Charity Foundation teams are always present like Peshmergas in the service of the citizens and wherever necessary, to fulfill the words of the late immortal Barzani who said: It is a pride to be a servant of your own nation. He added that: “Two years ago, the prime minister told us that one of his wishes was that there would be no martyr’s family who would not be given a housing unit as a small gift. We started under his supervision and 968 housing units have been prepared so far. Some of them were presented at a special ceremony in Duhok and some today.” He also said: “President Barzani does not like to be mentioned in the aid issue, but he supported the project that has been completed and we are presenting it to you today.
The President of the Barzani Charity Foundation stressed that all the projects to serve the sick and disabled children have been with the support and recommendation of Mr. Masrour Barzani. He added that anyone who has supported the Barzani Charity Foundation for humanitarian aid, all the aid has been recorded and determined how and where it was distributed to the victims and the poor. He called this a reason that has created a strong trust between the Barzani Charity Foundation and Kurdistan donors and international donors. He also said: “Iraq is currently out of the list of international organizations donations, but this year alone more than 27 billion dinars have been donated through international organizations to the Barzani Charity Foundation to carry out various projects,”.
In the last part of his speech, the President of Barzani Charity Foundation gave the good news to the families of the martyrs that under the recommendations and guidelines of President Barzani and with the support of the Chairman of the Board of Barzani Charity Foundation, projects like this one will continue and they will do more similar projects as this one.
