The foundation stone of the BCF City project was laid in Qushtapa township under the supervision of Mr. Masrour Barzani, Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government and Chairman of the Founding Board of Barzani Charity Foundation.
Under the supervision of Mr. Masrour Barzani, Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government and the Chairman of the Founding Committee of Barzani Charity Foundation, in the presence of Mr. Musa Ahmad, President of Barzani Charity Foundation, Erbil Governor Omid Khoshnaw, Sasan Auni, Minister of Municipalities and Tourism, Bzhar Mullah Khdr, governor of Qushtapa township Administrative and government officials, civil activists, religious leaders, donors and charitable people of Kurdistan, on 19\10\2024 the implementation ceremony of the project (BCF City) for the poor and low-income residents of Qushtapa township in Erbil which is providing 180 houses for the poor families was held.
At the beginning of the ceremony, Mr. Bzhar Mullah Khdr, Governor of Qushtapa township, delivered a speech and welcomed the guests, talked about the idea of building a new neighborhood in Qushtapa district and pointed out that many families live below the poverty line and should be given serious consideration. He also thanked the Barzani Charity Foundation and employers in the region and said that more than 4,000 people benefited from receiving food and non-food aid last year. He added that: “Mr. Musa Ahmad, the president of the Barzani Charity Foundation, was very supportive. Especially since it was not easy to do such a project. He also said that the President of Barzani Charity Foundation has played a significant role in increasing the number of donors to implement the project and supported them in every way. Then Mr. Omid Khoshnaw, Governor of Erbil, in his speech highlighted that the views of the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, has always been in all different sectors and he himself visited Qushtapa and approved a number of important projects for the district of Qushtapa. He also stressed that “Barzani Charity Foundation within the framework of the valuable saying of the great General, our spiritual and national leader Mustafa Barzani, who said: ((It is a pride for everyone to be a servant of his nation)). Has worked in every sector and played a great role in those areas. He also added that: “The housing problem is one of the priorities of the ninth cabinet of the Kurdistan Regional Government and has been the focus of the prime minister,”. He added that larger projects are planned and the Investment Board is a major supporter and the Ministry of Municipalities will provide all facilities for them. He added that in recent days, the keys to 540 housing units were presented by Mr. Masrour Barzani to the families of the martyrs.
Then Mr. Sasan Auni, Minister of Municipalities and Tourism in his speech, after welcoming the participants, expressed his pleasure to participate in the ceremony of another achievement of Barzani Charity Foundation to serve the poor and low-income people. He also said: “The construction of 180 houses for the poor people of this region, by a number of donors, businessmen and employers is commendable,” and I hoped that similar work will be done in all the other cities and towns as well.
He added that a land area of 35,000 square meters has been allocated for the project and 180 houses will be built on it. In addition to thanking the donors who supported the project, he wanted other employers and investors to participate in such assistance.
In the final part of the ceremony, Mr. Musa Ahmad, President of Barzani Charity Foundation, welcomed the guests and thanked the Kurdish donors and Businessmen on behalf of all the participants and he said: “We can honestly say that we have never seen anywhere in the world what our Charitable people are doing in Kurdistan being done elsewhere for humanitarian aid.” He praised the role of Erbil and its people in this regard and said: “We are the educated people of a path that does not forget goodness”.
