The 17th International Book Fair opened in Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, in the presence of President Barzani and the Foundation’s participates with several excellent books. Barzani Charitable Foundation division visitors have their suggestions and opinions.

I want to thank you for opening these exhibitions for everyone, especially for youths like us. I visit this book fair every year, and I wish that every young person visits these book fairs to know more about the past and recent aspects of life. These words were stated by Ara Ameen.
“The memories of President Barzani are very different. They are a history of struggle, loyalty, patriotism, and sacrifice, so everyone should read them,” said the 17-year-old boy, who is also a student in grade 11.
Aram Abdulrahman Rasoul, an employee and one of thousands of citizens who visited the division of the Barzani Charity Foundation in the exhibition, said: “The address of the Barzani Charitable Foundation attracted my attention, and I know that whatever this foundation does, the profit goes to charity work. Then he added: “President Barzani’s books are a very important and honest history, especially since my grandparents participated in the revolution and we were the victims of the Ba’athist policy and the killers that killed Kurds, so when I read them I feel more related and mixed with the books.
He said: “Employees cannot afford to buy books, but if they are given more discounts, it is a good thing.” he then added. “Those who can afford it can take advantage of this opportunity to donate and buy books. Because then the money can be used again for helping other people through charity donations.
Nyan Ahmad, a member of the high committee of the Ministry of Culture of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) in the 17th International Book Fair in Erbil, said that “Mada Foundation” in coordination with the Ministry of Culture arranged the 17th Erbil Book Fair, which began in 2006 and continues until now, this time 350 printing houses from 22 countries participated.
Then, in continuation of her speech, she mentioned the foundation and said: “Barzani Charitable Foundation is a non-profit organization in any field, and even if it does business, only the needy and victims will benefit from it. This organization has crossed borders to serve humanity and humanitarian work in the region and many countries, as well as many sectors. They have done a very good job, especially to serve refugees, orphans, and poor people inside and outside Kurdistan,” then she said: “The books of President Barzani and the publications of the Barzani Charitable Foundation highlight Kurdish history and give the reader a complete understanding,”.
Regarding the slogan of the exhibition (the world speaks Kurdish), she said that “Kurdistan has a good reputation at the international level, especially in the field of reconciliation and coexistence. And for now, Google is paying lots of attention to the Kurdish language.
The 17th International Book Fair was opened on 9\4\2025 in the presence of President Barzani at the Sami Abdulrahman Park International Fair in Erbil. Barzani Charitable Foundation participated in the exhibition with several excellent books, and it continued until 19\4\2025 from 10 am to 8 pm.
