Musa Ahmad, President of the Barzani Charity Foundation, participated in the Erbil Philanthropy Event, held under the title
“Philanthropists: The Cornerstone of Every Strong Society.”
The event took place on Tuesday, 16/12/2025, under the supervision of Omed Khoshnaw, Governor of Erbil, and with the presence of Bayan Sami Abdul Rahman, Presidential Advisor of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Dr. Hayman Mirani, General Director of the Ministry of Interior, as well as representatives of several international organizations.
During the event, a recognition award was presented to the Barzani Charity Foundation for its continuous humanitarian work and contributions to society, especially in supporting underprivileged and vulnerable communities.
International Volunteer Day, designated by the United Nations in 1985, serves as a symbolic day to honor organizations and individuals working in philanthropy. This day emphasizes the importance of volunteering in society and encourages governments to recognize, promote, and support humanitarian organizations and philanthropists, so that economic and social development goals can be achieved at both local and international levels.
