The Nujin Project is one of the key initiatives of the Barzani Charity Foundation. Since its launch in 2021, a total of 64 families have benefited from the project, including 12 families in 2026. Through this initiative, fundamental changes have been made in the lives of these families. The plan is for the project to continue after the holy month of Ramadan, allowing even more families in need to benefit from its support.
Through the Nujin Project, the Barzani Charity Foundation focuses on families facing severe financial hardship who are unable to meet their daily basic needs. Implemented in partnership with Kurdistan 24, the project highlights one struggling family at a time and works to provide all their essential needs, helping them overcome poverty.
The Nujin Project is among the Foundation’s most important programs. Through the Assessment and Monitoring Department under the Presidency of the Foundation, the implementation of the project is continuously monitored to ensure that activities follow the approved plans and objectives.
Under the project plan, a decent home is provided for a vulnerable family, either by purchasing or constructing a house and fully furnishing it with household necessities. If any member of the family suffers from a medical condition, the project covers the full cost of their treatment. Additionally, if any child in the family has been forced to leave school due to financial difficulties, the project enables them to return to education and covers all related expenses.
The project began in 2021, and the number of beneficiary families in recent years is as follows:
9 families in 2022
13 families in 2023
15 families in 2024
15 families in 2025
12 families in 2026
The Nujin Project operates across all offices of the Barzani Charity Foundation, including Erbil, Duhok, Sulaymaniyah, Kirkuk, Garmian, and Khanaqin, as well as the independent administrations of Soran and Zakho, and in Nineveh Governorate within Mosul. Without discrimination based on ethnicity, nationality, religion, or political affiliation, the project has successfully transformed the lives of dozens of vulnerable and underprivileged families, providing them with a stable and dignified life.
