Barzani Charity Foundation treats children with autism through scientific analysis. It emphasizes that children with autism have the right to get the required treatments and have big dreams just like the other ordinary children, and they should be given serious and full attention.
The UAE Center for Autism in Erbil is a semi-charity center that provides all services to low-income people free of charge. The center provides care, training, and rehabilitation for children with autism spectrum disorder. The UAE Center for Autism was established in December 2021 by the decision of the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government His Excellency (Masrour Barzani), who is also the Chairman of the Founding Board of the Barzani Charity Foundation.
This center was built by the UAE Red Crescent Society and is managed by the Barzani Charity Foundation. Efforts are being made to make this center a self-governing center in the future, and it is currently considered one of the best autism centers in Iraq and the region.
Children with autism are currently trained in two different shifts. Teachers and trainers train children according to the global system and using global and effective programs in the process of training and rehabilitation of children with autism. Examples of programs include ABA, TEACCH, IEP, PECS, Loaves, physical education, music lessons, and physical education for children with autism.
All trainers are university graduates and have certificates in relevant fields related to autism, and all the trainers have received several courses and trainings by international and local experts.
The UAE Center for Autism, in addition to training children with autism, has become a training center for trainers and employees, in this field, the center has opened several courses and trainings to train new trainers. A team of doctors in different specialties, such as (a neurologist, a psychiatrist, and a general pediatrician) closely sees the children of the center and monitors them as a volunteer. Every year, special trips and activities are held for students of the UAE Center for Autism to help them enjoy and get entertained.
