Mr. Musa Ahmad, President of Barzani Charity Foundation, announced the (Azizan – Kurdistan) project and presented the projects and activities of Barzani Charity Foundation during the holy month of Ramadan.
Mr. Musa Ahmad, President of Barzani Charity Foundation, announced the (Azizan – Kurdistan) project in a press conference on March 4, 2025. He also said that on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan and with the support of companies, personalities, and donors in Kurdistan and within the framework of the mentioned project, an amount of (1,361,440) dollars will be distributed to (3,562) orphans. According to his speech, the number of orphans who benefit from this project, including inside and outside the Kurdistan Region, is as follows: (in Erbil 802, in Sulaimani 561, in Duhok 594, in Kirkuk 644, in Halabja 55, in Garmian 454, in Sinjar 261 and in Afrin 192 orphans will benefit from the project).
The President of Barzani Charity Foundation, in the continuation of his speech, expressed his gratitude to the donors and supporters of the project, especially the rich and the people who like to donate in the Kurdistan Region and the UAE Red Crescent that have helped more than 16 thousand orphans since 2012. He added that more than $80 million in cash assistance has been given to the orphans so far. Also, the second part of the project will take place soon, which is more than $4,000,000 with the assistance of the UAE Red Crescent, and they will try to distribute it to more than 11,000 orphans before the end of the holy month of Ramadan. In addition to his speech, he said that next week they will announce the distribution of food baskets that will benefit more than 15,000 families. Nevertheless, an amount of money will be provided to poor and low-income families to buy their daily necessities in designated markets.
