Daik Care Complex

“Daik Care Complex” is another project of service and kindness that Barzani Charity Foundation is running in the proud region of Soran, an open embrace full of passion for people with disabilities and needy people. The community consists of six buildings, which are an institute for the blind, an institute for the deaf, an autism center, an orphanage, a nursing home, and a cultural center. Each of these six buildings is a humane garden painted with motherly love for people with disabilities.
With a warm heart and an embrace full of kindness, Daik Care Complex becomes a home for all those who are homeless, with motherly kindness becomes a refuge and embrace for children, youth, and the elderly with disabilities in the proud region of Soran.
The Daik Care Complex in Soran Autonomous Administration in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq was built on the recommendations of President Masoud Barzani and started its work in 2023. It is owned and managed by the Barzani Charity Foundation. All services are provided free of charge and the Barzani Charity Foundation provides all services.
Blinds’ Institute
It is an educational institution dedicated to training, supporting and providing specialized services for people who are blind, or partially sighted. The main goal of this institute is to improve the quality of life and promote independence for people with visual impairments, so that they can lead a normal life like any other individual in society.
The Institute for the Blind strives to facilitate the development of the abilities and skills of blind people to overcome the problems associated with their visual impairment. The institute generally offers a wide range of services, including specialized educational programs tailored to the needs of the visually impaired, movement and orientation training, Braille literacy, and the use of modern technology.
In addition, the institute aims to create a supportive and appropriate environment that provides trust, independence and social cohesion within the disabled community. By providing resources and training, bridge the worlds of sight and visual impairment, enabling blind and partially sighted individuals to maximize their potential and participate actively in various aspects of life.
Deafs’ Institute
It is an institution that works to ensure the special needs and rights of the deaf. One of the main objectives of the institute is to educate and support the hearing and speech impaired. The foundation is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life, opportunities and cultural awareness of the deaf individual. In general, the institute provides appropriate services including education, vocational training, counseling, advocacy and cultural programs that promote sign language and the ability of the deaf person to communicate with the outside world.
The institute focuses on strengthening the abilities and talents of the deaf and providing them with the tools and resources they need by providing sign language education materials, assistive technology, and social inclusion programs. Another goal of the institute is to spread awareness in the community to respect the deaf and protect their rights.
Autism Center
Autism Center in Daik Care Complex is the first charity center in Soran Autonomous Administration, which is owned by Barzani Charity Foundation. The Autism Center works with trained staff to rehabilitate and train children with autism. The Autism Center can accept and provide services for 50 children with autism between the ages of 3 and 6 years.
Services that are offered at the center include assessment, screening and diagnosis of autism and its severity and type. And to establish appropriate special training programs to encourage children with autism to return to educational institutions, or live semi-independently in the community.
One of the characteristics of the Autism Center is that it works in a multidisciplinary manner. The Autism Center team consists of psychiatrists, pediatricians, neurologists, special education teachers, speech and language therapists, physical therapists, and music and art teachers. All these specialties together contribute to the design and implementation of an appropriate training program for parents and families of children with autism to raise awareness about autism on the one hand and participate in the process of training and motivating their children on the other. Another goal of the Autism Center is to spread awareness in the community to understand autism, respect their differences, and prevent abuse of children with autism and their families.
orphanage
The orphanage will be a motherly passion to embrace the orphans in Soran, it will be a safe home and place of shelter, life, and education for those children who have lost both parents or one of them for any reason and need a safe shelter for life, development, and learning.
The Daik Care Complex’s Orphanage will be a healthy and peaceful environment where the orphans will be provided with opportunities to stay, sleep, eat, be educated, learn, do sports, and social activities and become a part of the beautiful family of the Daik Care Complex.
Elderly’s Department
The Daik Care Complex’s Elderly Department is responsible for the care and services for the elderly who do not have a specific place to live and they need care and services. In addition to serving future generations in the orphanage, the Daik Care Complex will be the big family that will also serve the older generations of this region who are a part of the culture and history of these areas.
In general, the duties of the Elderly Department will include providing adequate shelter, food, water, care and services for the elderly, providing a favorable environment for integration into society, providing opportunities for activity, welfare, education and a peaceful environment conducive to a decent and dignified life.

Culture Center
The Cultural Center of Daik Care Complex will be a special center for experienced and elderly people of Soran region. It is a pleasant place to get together and spend a good time. The aim is to bring together personalities and experienced people of the region in order to renew memories and promote a culture of coexistence and mixture of old and future generations, a place where people know their past and future and their nation.
