Activities of Barzani Charity Foundation in Afrin and its surroundings during the past six months

The head of the Barzani Charity Foundation’s Afrin issue presents the statistics of the work and activities of the Barzani Charity Foundation in Afrin and its surroundings during the past six months. In just six months, the mobile medical team of the Barzani Charity Foundation visited 110 villages, examined 4,620 patients and provided treatments and medical supplies for them, and provided food and non-food assistance to 695 family returnees in Afrin.
Mr. Rawaj Haji, a member of the Executive Board of Barzani Charity Foundation and in charge of the Afrin issue, in a speech to the website of Barzani Charity Foundation, presented the statistics of the work and activities of Barzani Charity Foundation in Afrin and its surroundings. According to him, 805 families (4,988) people have benefited from the humanitarian assistance and activities of the Barzani Charity Foundation in Afrin and its surroundings during the past six months.
The Barzani Centre for Culture and Development in Afrin was established on January 7, 2023 and continues to open vocational and educational courses for students (of different ages) and two courses in six months Long-term English language courses have been opened. The first round lasted for four months, with 8 girls and 3 boys participating. The second round was opened on 24/10/2024 and continues until now with 22 girls and 8 boys participating. He said: “Barzani Centre for Culture and Development in Afrin in coordination with the Afrin Education Directorate on 18/4/2024 opened Kurdish language courses at three levels of education and 113 people (63 girls and 50 boys) benefited from it. Of these, 76 students have received certificates and 37 are currently completing the course. Dozens of vocational, artistic and educational courses have been opened for students in the Centre.” He added that Barzani Charity Foundation continues to serve the project of orphans, opened a kindergarten during the summer holidays, which benefited 22 children in Afrin and Jundres. In this kindergarten, children are introduced to the letters of the Kurdish language and the symbols of Kurdistan (Kurdistan flag, the immortal Barzani and the Kurdish language). In the field of cash assistance, 192 children (95 girls and 97 boys) benefited in different places as follows: 23 children in Afrin, 54 in Jundres, 17 in Shran, 46 in Mabata, 15 in Rajo, 18 in Bulbul and 19 in Shie districts. He added that the mobile medical team of the Afrin office of Barzani Charity Foundation, on 20\1\2024 began to deliver health services and medical treatment to the people of the villages of Afrin. The project will last for 366 days and in just six months they have visited 110 villages, tested 4,620 patients and provided treatments for them.
Mr. Rawaj Haji concluded his speech by saying: “Barzani Charity Foundation continues to provide food and non-food aid to the needy people in Afrin. More than 110 families in Afrin have been distributed food baskets and household items in the past six months in Afrin and its surroundings, in the same sector and in order to support the return of displaced people food and non-food aid has been provided to 695 returnees in Afrin.
