On November 18, 2018, Dr Aaron Epstein, founder of the Global Surgical and Medical Support Group (GSMSG) met with Mr Masrour Barzani, Head of the board of founders of Barzani Charity Foundation (BCF). The recently launched project to help the low-income patients in the Kurdistan Region by a medical team from the GSMSG was highlighted during the meeting.
The Global Surgical and Medical Support Group (GSMSG), in cooperation with, Barzani Charity Foundation (BCF), the American University of Kurdistan (AUK), Duhok Directorate General of Health and the Peshmerga Ministry launched a project through which hundreds of patients in the Kurdistan Region will be provided with medical treatment by a GSMSG group of 42 doctors.
The head of the BCF founding board and the GSMSG founder spoke of the project and the mechanisms of providing treatment and surgeries to the patients.
Mr Barzani extended his deepest gratitude to the American organization, hoping that it will have a lasting impact on the health system in the Kurdistan Region.
Apart from treating patients, the medical team also provides training to a large number of local doctors and nurses.
