BCF to Renovate 200 Schools Across KRI

Barzani Charity Foundation (BCF) announced a project to renovate a large number of schools across the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI).

In a press conference on July 24, the BCF announced a significant project in the education sector to renovate 200 schools in the Kurdistan Region. The KRI education minister Alan Hamasaid, who attended the press conference, stated that the available fund for the project is 2 million dollars, and the BCF will undertake the renovation, adding that the project is expected to finish before the start of the new school year.

The education minister extended his gratitude to the BCF for its continued support to the education process.

On the other hand, the Erbil governor, Omed Khoshnaw, highly evaluated the humanitarian efforts of the BCF, stating that the BCF has always had a crucial role in the humanitarian response in Erbil during the humanitarian crises facing the province. Meanwhile, the governor said that 50 schools out of 200 schools in Erbil will be renovated by the project. 

At the end of the press conference, the BCF president Musa Ahmed said the foundation places a high value on the education process, stating that they have executed 181 activities in the education sector in 2022 alone. He also noted that their continued support to 18,000 orphans in the KRI is conditioned on staying in school. 

He promised that the BCF will be offering further support to the communities and continue their humanitarian efforts.
