The Director of the UAE Center for Autism in Erbil, presents the statistics of the projects and activities of the UAE Center for Autism in Erbil in the first six months of 2024.
The UAE Center for Autism in Erbil is a semi-charitable center that provides all services to low-income people free of charge. The center provides care, training and rehabilitation for children with autism spectrum disorder. The UAE Center for Autism was established in December 2021 by the decision of the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government His Excellency (Masrour Barzani), who is also the Chairman of the Founding Board of the Barzani Charity Foundation.
The Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government has provided an amount of (848,598,000) Iraqi Dinars as financial support for this center. The building of this center was built by the UAE Red Crescent Society and is managed by the Barzani Charity Foundation. Efforts are being made to make this center a self-governing center in the future, and it is currently considered one of the best autism centers in Iraq and the region.
Mr. Shaman Juma Nader, Director of the UAE Center for Autism in Erbil, told the official website of the UAE Center for Autism in Erbil in the first six months of 2024: “In the first six months of this year (2024) more than 98 children They received training in both morning and evening shifts. In a month, children receive 70 hours of training in the morning and 40 hours in the evening.”
Mr. Shaman Juma Nader, Director of the UAE Center for Autism in Erbil, talked for the official website of the Barzani Charity Foundation and mentioned the activities and projects of the UAE Center for Autism in Erbil in the first six months of 2024: “In the first six months of this year (2024) more than 98 children received trainings in both morning and evening shifts. In a month, the children receive 70 hours of training in the morning and 40 hours in the evening shifts.”
The director of the UAE Center for Autism in Erbil said that by 2024, more than 60 children have been returned to normal schools at both kindergarten and school levels in both morning and evening shifts. The center operates are Lovas Pex (ABA TEACCH), the child’s skills are assessed through the Basic Learning and Language Skills Assessment Guide and an Individualized Education Program (IEP) is developed for each child. A medical team from different specialties such as psychiatrists, neurologists and general pediatricians visits the children weekly and monitors their health. According to him, special trips and various activities are held annually for students of the UAE Center for Autism.
